However:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"6267\" data-end=\"6619\">\n<li data-section-id=\"2lo9r0\" data-start=\"6267\" data-end=\"6321\">NASA discourages unacknowledged AI-generated content<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1usnn9q\" data-start=\"6322\" data-end=\"6418\">Proposal teams remain responsible for the accuracy and authenticity of all submitted materials<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"zpzci2\" data-start=\"6419\" data-end=\"6482\">Use of AI tools must be properly cited in proposal references<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"aygq5o\" data-start=\"6483\" data-end=\"6619\">Sensitive or export-controlled information subject to ITAR or EAR regulations must not be uploaded into publicly accessible AI systems<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"6621\" data-end=\"6663\">Required AI citation information includes:<\/p>\n<ol data-start=\"6664\" data-end=\"6765\">\n<li data-section-id=\"191gbr1\" data-start=\"6664\" data-end=\"6686\">Name of the AI tool<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1qys7wg\" data-start=\"6687\" data-end=\"6704\">Version number<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1as6t5d\" data-start=\"6705\" data-end=\"6722\">Date\/time used<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1wbp9rf\" data-start=\"6723\" data-end=\"6765\">Description of how the AI tool was used<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p data-start=\"6767\" data-end=\"6857\">Professional human writers contributing to proposals or reports must also be acknowledged.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"6859\" data-end=\"7006\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\"><a class=\"decorated-link cursor-pointer\" target=\"_new\" rel=\"noopener\" data-start=\"6859\" data-end=\"7006\" data-is-last-node=\"\">NASA Scientific and Research Integrity Policy (NPD 1920.1A)<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NASA Science Mission Directorate (SMD) currently does not prohibit the use of Generative AI tools, such as ChatGPT, in proposal preparation or award reporting.
