Bach: Prelude in D minor, BWV 999<\/li>\n<li>Luis Milan: Pavana I<\/li>\n<li>F. Poulenc: Sarabande<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>One etude such as Sor Studies or Carcassi Studies, Op. 60<\/li>\n<li>One etude performed from memory<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Woodwind &amp; Brass<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Major scales and a chromatic scale, two octaves<\/li>\n<li>One All-State required etude or etude of comparable difficulty<\/li>\n<li>One solo of regional solo festival level<\/li>\n<li>Sight reading<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Percussion<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Demonstrate abilities in three or more of the following areas:\n<ul>\n<li>Snare Drum: rudimental and\/or concert style solo<\/li>\n<li>Keyboard (xylophone, marimba, vibraphone, or bells): major scales, two octaves;<br \/>\ntwo solos or etudes such as an All-State audition piece<\/li>\n<li>Timpani: two solos or etudes; tune intervals<\/li>\n<li>Multiple Percussion: one solo<\/li>\n<li>Drum Set: play time and solos in jazz, Latin and\/or rock styles<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Voice<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Two memorized songs chosen from the traditional art song repertoire, folk song arrangements, and sacred songs in English<\/li>\n<li>A song in a foreign language is strongly suggested<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Piano<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Three contrasting pieces of classical piano literature comparable to that suggested below; C,G,D,A,E, and F major and minor scales \u2013 2 octaves minimum<\/li>\n<li>BA in Mus. Ed. Candidates\n<ul>\n<li>Chopin Preludes or Mazurkas<\/li>\n<li>Scarlatti Sonatas; Clementi<\/li>\n<li>Kuhlau or Kabalevsky Sonatinas<\/li>\n<li>Debussy Children&#8217;s Corner.<\/li>\n<li>One piece minimum must be memorized<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>BFA Candidates:\n<ul>\n<li>Chopin Nocturnes Waltzes<\/li>\n<li>Movement of a classical Sonata,<\/li>\n<li>Debussy Preludes<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Two pieces minimum must be memorized.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Organ<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>One piece by J.S. Bach or his contemporaries<\/li>\n<li>A slow movement from one of the Mendelssohn Sonatas, op. 65<\/li>\n<li>A contrasting piece with an active pedal part<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Jazz (non-rhythm section)<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Major scales, two octaves.<\/li>\n<li>One blues in a key selected by student. Perform both melody and improvisation.\u00a0May use play-along recording. Suggested blues include C Jam Blues, Straight No\u00a0Chaser, Now\u2019s the Time, Sonnymoon for Two, Billie\u2019s Bounce, etc.<\/li>\n<li>One jazz standard. Perform both melody and improvisation. May use play-along recording. Suggested standards include Take the A Train, Autumn Leaves, Blue\u00a0Bossa, Oleo, All The Things You Are, Body and Soul, Summertime, Stella By\u00a0Starlight, etc.<\/li>\n<li>One jazz solo transcription (written out solo performed by a reknowned jazz\u00a0musician).<\/li>\n<li>Solo may be transcribed by student or purchased.
