Auditions for fall 2015 theatre season to take place Wednesday, Aug. 26

Share

Auditions for the fall Marshall University theatre productions of Ah, Wilderness! by Eugene O’Neill, and A Christmas Carol, by Charles Dickens and adapted by Romulus Linney, will take place beginning Wednesday, Aug. 26.

Theatre Professor John Colclough emphasized that students do not have to be theatre majors to audition. However, all declared performance majors must audition for the shows listed and all declared freshman and transfer production majors also must take part by introducing themselves and talking a bit about their previous work in the theatre. Sign-up sheets will be posted in the green room of the Joan C. Edwards Performing Arts Center (1st floor, to the right of the 6th Ave entrance).

Where: The Joan C. Edwards Playhouse. Enter the Sixth Avenue door and follow the signs.

When: 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 26

What: Prepare two contrasting, one-minute monologues that reflect the sensibilities of the plays and 16 bars of a song of your choosing. Although memorized selections are required for theatre majors, non-majors are not required to present memorized material. A performance resume and headshots are also encouraged.

Call-backs will be held on Thursday, Aug. 27, for Ah, Wilderness! and Friday, Aug. 28, for A Christmas Carol. A call-back list for each of the shows will be posted by 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 27, in the green room of the Performing Arts Center.
