{"id":22894,"date":"2021-10-14T16:57:34","date_gmt":"2021-10-14T20:57:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/news\/?p=22894"},"modified":"2021-10-15T09:19:32","modified_gmt":"2021-10-15T13:19:32","slug":"marshall-university-pauses-all-greek-activity-following-covid-spike","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/news\/2021\/10\/marshall-university-pauses-all-greek-activity-following-covid-spike\/","title":{"rendered":"Greek activity paused following COVID spike"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>Marshall University today announced that all Greek activity has been paused for 10 days following a spike in COVID-19 cases that have occurred in some of these student organizations.<\/p>\n<p>According to university officials, the decision was made in an abundance of caution to protect both the Marshall and Huntington communities. Contact tracing is currently underway. The university\u2019s most up-to-date information is available on the COVID-19 dashboard at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/coronavirus\/dashboard\">http:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/coronavirus\/dashboard<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Marshall University\u2019s Director of Safety and Environmental Tracy Smith said all Greek members who are not vaccinated and were exposed to a positive will be quarantined for 10 days.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn addition to the quarantines and isolation of positives, we will be testing everyone who was exposed,\u201d Smith said.\u00a0 \u201cAdditionally, we will be testing all members regardless of vaccine status each week for the next three weeks.
