{"id":23797,"date":"2022-04-29T15:24:07","date_gmt":"2022-04-29T19:24:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/news\/?p=23797"},"modified":"2022-05-10T11:38:03","modified_gmt":"2022-05-10T15:38:03","slug":"school-of-pharmacy-celebrates-graduating-class-of-2022","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/news\/2022\/04\/school-of-pharmacy-celebrates-graduating-class-of-2022\/","title":{"rendered":"School of Pharmacy celebrates graduating class of 2022"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.marshall.edu\">Marshall University<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/pharmacy\/\">School of Pharmacy<\/a> celebrated its seventh graduating class Thursday, April 28, at the Keith-Albee Performing Arts Center in Huntington.<\/p>\n<p>Marshall President <a href=\"http:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/president\/brad-d-smith\">Brad D. Smith<\/a> conferred 53 Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degrees and two Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degrees. Four summer graduates also participated in the ceremony.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCommencement is such an emotional experience,\u201d said Paul Blankenship, Class of 2022 president. \u201cIt is the celebration of the completion of the first part of our journey toward becoming a pharmacist, so in that way it is all about accomplishment and gratitude to those people who helped us get to this point.\u00a0 But it is also the start of the next phase of establishing our career, so it is exciting and very anticipatory.\u00a0 I think I can speak for my fellow graduates when I say that we are looking forward to putting into practice all that we have learned, but we will miss our MUSOP \u2018Pharmily\u2019 very much.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Many of the graduates have accepted positions with retail pharmacies such as CVS, Fruth, Gillum Drug (Kentucky) and Walgreens.
