Kipp Bodnar, a Marshall University graduate, successful author and highly regarded chief marketing officer for HubSpot<\/a>, has been appointed by Gov. Jim Justice to serve on the university\u2019s Board of Governors.<\/p>\n

Justice made the announcement last week.<\/p>\n

Bodnar, who graduated from Marshall in 2004 with a degree in journalism, is an experienced digital marketer with a demonstrated track record of success in social media marketing, complimented by deep experience in business-to-business marketing.<\/p>\n

Marshall President Brad D. Smith<\/a> said Bodnar\u2019s innovative approaches and proven expertise in modern marketing practices bring the perfect combination of skills and experiences to the boardroom to elevate Marshall\u2019s marketing capability and propel the university forward in a digital world.<\/p>\n

\u201cKipp Bodnar brings significant knowledge of digital marketing and leadership-at-scale that will amplify our brand and strengthen our execution in the next chapter of our journey,\u201d said Smith. \u201cI am eager to get Kipp engaged and benefit from his thought partnership for taking Marshall to the next level.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bodnar is a Williamstown, West Virginia, native and now makes his home in the Boston area with his family.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs a graduate of Marshall University, I am so honored to have the opportunity to contribute to the next generation of Marshall\u2019s evolution. I look forward to working with President Brad D. Smith on making Marshall the best it can be for its students, faculty and greater community,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Bodnar started his professional career as an intern at Charles Ryan Associates in West Virginia and has served in roles at several marketing firms. He joined HubSpot in 2010 as an inbound marketing specialist and excelled at every level, eventually being promoted to chief marketing officer.\u00a0 While at Marshall, he was editor of the Parthenon and a member of the university’s chapter of Public Relations Society of America (PPRSA.)<\/p>\n

\u201cOur board and university will benefit tremendously from Kipp\u2019s world-class skill set,” said Patrick Farrell, chairman of the board of governors. “His expertise in the field of digital marketing and his understanding of Marshall\u2019s identity will help guide our work as we tackle the challenges facing higher education.”<\/p>\n

Bodnar is expected to be sworn in at the next board meeting scheduled for Oct. 19.\u00a0 He replaces Bill Noe, who stepped down from the board to serve as Marshall\u2019s Chief Aviation Officer for the Division of Aviation.\u00a0 Bodnar\u2019s term ends June 20, 2023.<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
