Marshall University faculty member Josh Brunty will present the December commencement address Saturday, Dec. 10, at Mountain Health Arena in Huntington.<\/p>\n

The West Virginia native is a renowned expert in the area of digital forensics. He\u2019s an associate professor of digital forensics in the Marshall University College of Science. Brunty is a former digital forensics laboratory manager and examiner with over a decade of experience in the field of digital forensics and high-tech crime investigation.<\/p>\n

Prior to joining Marshall University in 2012, Brunty spent several years as a digital forensics examiner and laboratory technical leader assisting in many high-profile cases for agencies around West Virginia, as well as serving on several federal and state-level cybercrime task forces and panels.<\/p>\n

Marshall\u2019s December 2022 Commencement will feature one ceremony at 10 a.m., led by President Brad D. Smith. A total of 1,106 students are expected to graduate this December, with approximately 500 students planning to participate in the ceremonies, which will be livestreamed.<\/p>\n

Marshall University Registrar Dr. Sonja Cantrell-Johnson says the ceremony is always a joyful time for students.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re excited once again for the opportunity to celebrate the accomplishments of our great students and welcome them to the family of Marshall alumni,\u201d said Cantrell-Johnson. \u201cWe\u2019re thrilled to hear from one of our great faculty members in Josh Brunty.\u201d<\/p>\n

Parking<\/em><\/p>\n

Parking is available in the parking garage on Third Avenue across from the Mountain Health Arena. Parking in this garage is available on weekends at no charge. In addition, parking is available in the Pullman Square garages for a minimal fee. All three parking garages are in reasonable walking distance of the arena.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Security<\/em><\/p>\n

The Mountain Health Arena has implemented security procedures including walk-through metal detectors for all events occurring in the building, including Marshall University\u2019s commencement ceremonies. Graduates and guests should allow additional time to make it through security and find seats before the ceremony begins.<\/p>\n

Prohibited items include illegal drugs or substances, outside food and drink, knives, guns, pepper spray, lasers, glow sticks, fireworks, wallet chains, sharp spiked jewelry, selfie sticks, tripods and umbrellas. Photographs<\/em><\/p>\n

Professional photographers will be at the stage area during the ceremony to take pictures of each graduate.
