{"id":25151,"date":"2023-03-22T16:33:22","date_gmt":"2023-03-22T20:33:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/news\/?p=25151"},"modified":"2023-04-03T15:50:40","modified_gmt":"2023-04-03T19:50:40","slug":"u-s-court-of-appeals-for-the-fourth-circuit-visits-marshall-university","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/news\/2023\/03\/u-s-court-of-appeals-for-the-fourth-circuit-visits-marshall-university\/","title":{"rendered":"U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit visits Marshall University"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>Nearly two hundred people, including local high school students, university students and area lawyers attended a special oral argument session of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit at Marshall University today.<\/p>\n<p>It was the inaugural visit by the court to Marshall University, an event usually reserved for universities with law schools.<\/p>\n<p>Based in Richmond, Virginia, the court hears appeals from federal district courts in West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina and South Carolina, as well as from federal administrative agencies.<\/p>\n<p>Three oral arguments were heard by Chief Judge Roger L.
