{"id":26118,"date":"2024-01-12T14:57:02","date_gmt":"2024-01-12T19:57:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/news\/?p=26118"},"modified":"2024-01-12T14:57:02","modified_gmt":"2024-01-12T19:57:02","slug":"marshall-announces-graduate-tuition-waiver-for-graduating-students","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/news\/2024\/01\/marshall-announces-graduate-tuition-waiver-for-graduating-students\/","title":{"rendered":"Marshall announces graduate tuition waiver for graduating students"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>Marshall University is offering a new scholarship program for students who transition from an undergraduate degree into a master\u2019s degree program.<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cOne of the Herd\u201d graduate tuition waiver will provide automatic financial aid of up to $500 for the first semester when a student completes an undergraduate degree in Spring 2024 or Summer 2024 and begins a master\u2019s degree program in Fall 2024.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMarshall is glad to help our undergraduates continue to the next phase of their education,&#8221; said Carl Mummert, assistant provost at the university. &#8220;This tuition waiver is meant to make that step a little easier for our students.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The $500 tuition waiver will be applied automatically to each student\u2019s account, and no application for the waiver is necessary. Both face-to-face and online master\u2019s programs are included. Additional information is available at https:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/graduate\/ one-of-the-herd-graduate-tuition-waiver\/<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEarning a graduate degree opens up additional job opportunities and options, as well as giving each student a more in-depth understanding of their field,&#8221; Mummert said.<\/p>\n<p>According to the National Center for Education Statistics, 25- to 34-year-olds working full-time in 2021 earned 21% more on average with a master\u2019s or higher degree compared to a bachelor\u2019s degree.<\/p>\n<p>With more than 3,000 graduate students enrolled, Marshall offers over 55 master\u2019s degree programs, 10 doctoral degree programs, and 31 graduate certificates. Many programs have online options available.
