{"id":26965,"date":"2024-07-16T16:40:25","date_gmt":"2024-07-16T20:40:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/news\/?p=26965"},"modified":"2024-07-16T16:40:25","modified_gmt":"2024-07-16T20:40:25","slug":"arc-federal-co-chair-gayle-manchin-visits-marshall-university-for-workforce-development-and-cyber-security-discussions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/news\/2024\/07\/arc-federal-co-chair-gayle-manchin-visits-marshall-university-for-workforce-development-and-cyber-security-discussions\/","title":{"rendered":"ARC Federal Co-Chair Gayle Manchin visits Marshall University for workforce development and cyber security discussions"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) Co-Chair Gayle Manchin visited Marshall University today for a roundtable with representatives from more than a half dozen colleges and universities located throughout the Appalachian Region focusing on efforts to create a model for cyber security education that can be scaled throughout the country.<\/p>\n<p>The project is funded by the ARC&#8217;s ARISE grant initiative that drives large-scale, regional economic transformation through multi-state collaboratives in the Appalachian region.<\/p>\n<p>Manchin said collaboration among institutions in the region will have a powerful impact in delivering a trained cyber workforce.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAppalachia\u2019s academic institutions are integral to the growth of our region\u2019s cyber security workforce,\u201d said Manchin. \u201cCyber security is an industry that requires a continuum of learning.
