As the fall semester gets under way, Marshall Libraries has issued a call for submissions for its 2025 art exhibit, which will be displayed in Drinko Library on the Marshall campus throughout the Spring 2025 semester.<\/p>\n

The theme for the upcoming art exhibition is \u201cAppalachian Innovation: Crafting the Future,\u201d and members of the Marshall community and surrounding Appalachian community are invited to participate and express their visions of the future through art, poetry and craftsmanship.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis exhibition serves as a platform for showcasing forward-thinking ideas and creative solutions that redefine Appalachia’s story as we move toward the future,\u201d said Kacy Lovelace, an assistant professor and research and student success librarian at Marshall. \u201cWe encourage submissions that explore new perspectives, challenge conventions, and reimagine what is possible in our region.\u201d<\/p>\n

Various forms of art are encouraged \u2014 from painting to sculpture to fibers to poetry and more \u2014 to express Appalachian identity and inspire dialogue about innovation and its role in shaping the region\u2019s collective future.<\/p>\n

The deadline for electronic submissions is Nov. 25. In-person submissions can be dropped off at Drinko Library between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. Dec. 5, and between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Dec. 6.
