{"id":27757,"date":"2025-02-13T14:54:51","date_gmt":"2025-02-13T19:54:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/news\/?p=27757"},"modified":"2025-02-13T16:06:02","modified_gmt":"2025-02-13T21:06:02","slug":"marshall-university-expands-marshall-for-all-initiative","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/news\/2025\/02\/marshall-university-expands-marshall-for-all-initiative\/","title":{"rendered":"Marshall University expands Marshall For All initiative"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>Marshall University is excited to expand its Marshall For All initiative with Marshall For All: Tuition-Free WV\u2014a transformative program that allows eligible first-time freshmen from West Virginia to attend college without paying tuition.\u00a0 The new program is already underway and will be applied to all accepted incoming freshmen students who qualify.<\/p>\n<p>Under this expansion, West Virginia students with a family income of $65,000 or less will have their tuition and fees fully covered \u2013 with no loans required. This initiative reflects Marshall\u2019s continued commitment to affordability, accessibility and student success, particularly for families with financial need.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We believe that every student deserves access to a high-quality education, regardless of their financial background,&#8221; said Brad D. Smith, president of Marshall University. &#8220;With this expansion, we\u2019re eliminating tuition as a barrier for even more students, helping them build a future of success\u2014without the weight of student loan debt.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>While Marshall For All: Tuition-Free WV covers 100% of tuition and mandatory university fees, students remain responsible for housing, meals, books and other personal expenses. However, additional financial aid options\u2014including scholarships and grants\u2014are available to help offset these costs.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This is a game-changer for students across West Virginia,&#8221; said Dr. Jerry Ross, Marshall\u2019s chief enrollment officer. &#8220;We understand that affording college is a major concern for many families, and this program is another way we\u2019re working to make a Marshall education more accessible.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>No Additional Application Required<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There is no separate application for Marshall For All: Tuition-Free WV.
