Marshall University\u2019s School of Art & Design invites the public to end-of-the-semester exhibitions showcasing the work of its students. The exhibitions include \u201cOuroboro-Disco: Selected Foundations Works\u201d in the Birke Art Gallery and senior Capstone Exhibitions in the Charles W. & Norma C. Carroll Gallery.<\/p>\n

The Ouroboro-Disco: Selected Foundations Works will be on display in the Birke Art Gallery from April 21 to May 2. This exhibition marks the culmination of the foundations program and review process, highlighting exceptional student works selected by the School of Art & Design faculty. An awards reception will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on April 23, with awards announced at 5:30 p.m.<\/p>\n

The Capstone Exhibitions will be held in the Charles W. & Norma C. Carroll Gallery from April 21 to May 1. This series of group exhibitions showcases the work of 10 senior students from the School of Art & Design, each presenting their final projects.<\/p>\n

Capstone Group 1, \u201cLuminary,\u201d features the work of Sophie Leffew, Lily Narraway, Leah Teasdale, Lana Thacker and Kaylie Williams. The exhibition will be on view from April 21 to 24, with a reception from 5 to 7 p.m. on April 21.<\/p>\n

Capstone Group 2, \u201cPersonally Identifiable Information,\u201d features works from Maribren Flores, Lyf Moore, Brooke Mullins, Kaz Slonaker and Joshua White.<\/p>\n

The exhibition will be on view April 28 to May 1, with a reception from 5 to 7 p.m. on April 28. Each reception will host artist talks from the students beginning at 5:30 p.m.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur students have been working extremely hard this semester on all floors of the Visual Arts Center and the Art Warehouse,\u201d said Gallery Director Courtney Chapman. \u201cExhibiting work always has a sense of vulnerability to it, whether it\u2019s a student\u2019s first time showing in a gallery space \u2014 which is often the case for the Foundations Review exhibition \u2014 or they\u2019re preparing for their final exhibition as a student at Marshall. These exhibitions are always highly anticipated by our community members though, and truly a wonderful way to see what incredible talent is emerging from our program.\u201d<\/p>\n

Galleries are located on the first floor of the Visual Arts Center at 927 Third Ave. in Huntington.<\/p>\n
