Patrick Morrisey has appointed Charles R. \u201cRusty\u201d Webb to the Marshall University Board of Governors.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m so pleased to name Rusty Webb as a board member,\u201d Morrisey said. \u201cHis wealth of experience and love of Marshall will serve the university well, as they continue to move toward higher heights.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A 1983 graduate of Marshall University and former member of the men\u2019s swim team, Webb brings more than three decades of public service and legal experience to the board. Over the past 33 years, he has served the state of West Virginia as both an attorney and a legislator. In 1996, Webb was elected to the West Virginia House of Delegates, where he served four terms. In 2006, he founded Webb Law Centre, PLLC, in Charleston, focusing his legal practice on personal injury law.<\/p>\n<p>Board of Governors Chair Geoff Sheils welcomed Webb\u2019s appointment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re pleased to welcome Rusty to the Board of Governors,\u201d Sheils said. \u201cHis deep roots at Marshall, combined with his decades of public service and legal expertise, make him an asset. I\u2019m confident he will play an important role in advancing the university\u2019s goals and strengthening our impact across the state.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Marshall President Brad D. Smith said Webb embodies the spirit of Marshall with a deep commitment to the Mountain State.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs an alumnus and former student-athlete, he brings a meaningful connection to our university community, along with valuable experience in law and public policy,\u201d Smith said. \u201cWe\u2019re excited to welcome him to the Board of Governors and look forward to the insights and energy he will bring to this important role.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Webb expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve his alma mater in this new role.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a tremendous honor to return to Marshall in this capacity,\u201d Webb said. \u201cThis university helped shape who I am, and I\u2019m committed to ensuring it continues to thrive and grow for future generations of students. I\u2019m grateful to Governor Morrisey for this appointment and look forward to working with my fellow board members to support the mission of Marshall University.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Webb is married to Robin, also a Marshall graduate, and together they have three adult children.
