{"id":28274,"date":"2025-06-10T14:41:31","date_gmt":"2025-06-10T18:41:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/news\/?p=28274"},"modified":"2025-06-19T10:27:04","modified_gmt":"2025-06-19T14:27:04","slug":"marshall-hosting-tamarack-art-exhibit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/news\/2025\/06\/marshall-hosting-tamarack-art-exhibit\/","title":{"rendered":"Marshall hosting Tamarack art exhibit"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>Marshall University\u2019s Visual Arts Center is hosting an exhibit from the Tamarack Foundation for the Arts through July 11, with a reception planned for 5 p.m. on closing day.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibit, The Art of Fellowship, celebrates the exceptional creative voices of Tamarack artists, including past master fellows, emerging artist fellows and creative entrepreneur fellows.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Art of Fellowship represents the heart of our mission at Tamarack Foundation for the Arts \u2014 investing in West Virginia\u2019s creative talent and watching it flourish,\u201d said Renee Margocee, executive director of Tamarack Foundation for the Arts. \u201cThese artists exemplify what\u2019s possible when we provide resources, mentorship and community support to our state\u2019s most promising voices.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The collection brings together the dynamic work of artists from across the state of West Virginia and highlights the power of fellowship to nurture talent, fuel innovation and foster sustainable creative careers. Each piece in the exhibition is a reflection of the entrepreneurial spirit and artistic growth that the fellowship programs are designed to support.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Art of the Fellowship Exhibition is a great example of how we are connecting artists from across the state and creating opportunities,\u201d said Robby Moore, arts extension educator with the West Virginia State University Extension Service. \u201cIt&#8217;s more than just an art exhibition. It&#8217;s a testament to the art community&#8217;s strength and vitality.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Many participating artists are expected to attend the closing reception, planned for 5-7:30 p.m. July 11 at the VAC, located at 927 3rd Ave. in downtown Huntington. The public is invited to attend and meet the artists and discuss their works, representing a vibrant cross-section of West Virginia\u2019s creative landscape.<\/p>\n<p>Marshall galleries are open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, and admission is free and open to all.
