Marshall\u2019s University\u2019s School of Art & Design has announced an open call for entries for its 15th Annual National Juried Exhibition, which will be on display Jan. 5 through Feb. 5, 2026, at the Charles W. & Norma C. Carroll Gallery in the university\u2019s Visual Arts Center at 927 3rd Ave., Huntington.<\/p>\n

This annual exhibition features contemporary visual artists from across the United States, offering a space to showcase alongside a variety of other artists practicing in a vast range of mediums. Artists who are age 18 and older living in the United States are invited to submit up to three original artworks in any media.<\/p>\n

The submission deadline is 11:59 p.m. EST on Oct. 25, 2025.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s juror is Erika B. Hess, a nationally exhibited painter, creator of the podcast I Like Your Work, and artistic director of Visual Arts at the Chautauqua Institution. Hess maintains an active studio practice base in Columbus, Ohio, and Long Island City, New York, and holds an MFA from Boston University.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is one of my favorite exhibitions we host because there is always such a wide range of works and experiences on display in the gallery,\u201d said Gallery Director Courtney Chapman. \u201cEach year, we receive more works than the prior and are able to represent more regions of the U.S., and I don\u2019t doubt that same trajectory this year with Hess as our juror.\u201d<\/p>\n

Entry fees are $30 for the general public and $15 for Marshall University students. All submissions must be completed online by the posted deadline. Accepted artists will be notified by Nov. 17, 2025.<\/p>\n

An awards reception will be held on Feb. 5, 2026, to recognize the exceptional works and celebrate the close of the exhibition.<\/p>\n
