{"id":28480,"date":"2025-08-18T16:10:48","date_gmt":"2025-08-18T20:10:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/news\/?p=28480"},"modified":"2025-08-18T16:25:02","modified_gmt":"2025-08-18T20:25:02","slug":"fall-semester-begins-at-marshall-university","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/news\/2025\/08\/fall-semester-begins-at-marshall-university\/","title":{"rendered":"Fall semester begins at Marshall University"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>Marshall University welcomed thousands of students back to campus today as the Fall 2025 semester officially began, bringing renewed energy, new academic opportunities and a strong focus on campus and community safety.<\/p>\n<p>As classes resume across the Huntington campus and regional locations, university officials are anticipating continued momentum in student enrollment. While final enrollment figures will not be confirmed until October, early projections released in July suggest that Marshall is on track to see its third consecutive year of enrollment growth.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s nothing like the energy of the first day of classes,\u201d said Brad D. Smith, President of Marshall University. \u201cWe\u2019re excited to kick off a new year with some great new programs, more students on campus, and a strong focus on keeping everyone safe and supported.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Among the university\u2019s academic highlights this fall are several new undergraduate and graduate programs designed to meet emerging workforce needs. These include interdisciplinary offerings in sonography, health and wellness and drone technologies \u2014 part of Marshall\u2019s ongoing commitment to preparing students for the careers of the future.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to academic expansion, Marshall is also launching a pedestrian safety campaign in partnership with local officials and law enforcement.
