Smith Center for Business and Innovation. This free event is now open to women in the Huntington community.<\/p>\n<p>Key themes of the workshop include:<br \/>\n\u2022 Understanding the &#8220;Goldilocks Dilemma&#8221; and other persistent double standards women face in leadership<br \/>\n\u2022 The unique challenges of &#8220;the steep climb&#8221; as women advance in seniority<br \/>\n\u2022 Exploring the concept of intent vs. impact and how to make difficult conversations more accessible<br \/>\n\u2022 Challenging internalized bias: Recognizing and interrupting patterns that affect how women view themselves<br \/>\n\u2022 Allyship and intersectionality: Concrete actions for supporting both women and allies across genders<br \/>\n\u2022 Interactive doodling exercises for participants to imagine new ways forward together (no artistic experience required \u2014 we&#8217;ll be using stick figures!)<\/p>\n<p>With extensive experience in higher education consulting, Ho blends over 20 years of leadership experience with a gift for making ideas come alive.<br \/>\nA former corporate executive and UCLA literature instructor, she designs keynotes and workshops that use art and narrative to bring today\u2019s most urgent leadership concepts to life.<br \/>\nBy integrating strategy with creativity, Ho helps audiences think more expansively, engage more honestly, and lead with clarity and purpose.<\/p>\n<p>Attendance is free, but registration is encouraged at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/wcenter\/events\">www.marshall.edu\/wcenter\/events<\/a>.<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In partnership with BOLD at Marshall University, award winning-author, speaker and visual artist Melanie Ho is presenting a workshop, Comics for Real Talk About What Women Face at Work, at 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 19 at the Brad D.
