{"id":28897,"date":"2025-11-10T09:43:42","date_gmt":"2025-11-10T14:43:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/news\/?p=28897"},"modified":"2025-11-10T09:43:42","modified_gmt":"2025-11-10T14:43:42","slug":"marshall-university-launches-direct-admit-partnership-with-boyd-county-schools-in-kentucky","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/news\/2025\/11\/marshall-university-launches-direct-admit-partnership-with-boyd-county-schools-in-kentucky\/","title":{"rendered":"Marshall University launches direct admit partnership with Boyd County Schools in Kentucky"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>Marshall University has announced a new partnership with Boyd County Schools in Kentucky to launch the Marshall Direct Admit Program, an initiative designed to make higher education more accessible by removing barriers to college admission.<\/p>\n<p>Through the program, every senior at Boyd County High School and Boyd County Central School will receive direct admission to Marshall University upon graduation \u2014 marking the seventh district to join the initiative and the first partnership outside of West Virginia.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are thrilled to partner with Marshall University to offer our students this incredible opportunity,\u201d said Kelly Fox, principal of Boyd County High School. \u201cThe Marshall Direct Admit Program removes barriers and opens doors for our seniors, ensuring that every student who dreams of a college education has a clear and direct path to achieve it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Boyd County, Kentucky, falls under Marshall\u2019s metro tuition rate, which offers reduced tuition to students from surrounding counties in neighboring states, further expanding access to a quality, affordable education.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMarshall is deeply committed to helping students see college as both possible and attainable,\u201d said Jerry Ross, Marshall\u2019s chief enrollment officer. \u201cBy partnering with Boyd County Schools, we\u2019re extending that mission beyond state lines, providing students with a seamless transition from high school to higher education and eliminating many of the traditional obstacles that stand in their way.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Marshall Direct Admit Program reflects the university\u2019s broader commitment to supporting students and families by simplifying the college-going process.
