{"id":29266,"date":"2026-03-17T11:23:55","date_gmt":"2026-03-17T15:23:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/news\/?p=29266"},"modified":"2026-03-17T16:04:56","modified_gmt":"2026-03-17T20:04:56","slug":"marshall-bound-event-planned-to-welcome-admitted-students","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/news\/2026\/03\/marshall-bound-event-planned-to-welcome-admitted-students\/","title":{"rendered":"Marshall Bound event planned to welcome admitted students"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>Marshall University will welcome newly admitted students and their families to campus March 28 for Marshall Bound, a special event designed to celebrate the incoming Class of 2030 and help students prepare for their next step as members of the Herd.<\/p>\n<p>Marshall Bound provides admitted students with an opportunity to experience campus life, connect with faculty and staff and complete important enrollment steps before the fall semester.<\/p>\n<p>Marshall Bound is an exclusive admitted-student event that celebrates students\u2019 achievements while helping them prepare for life at Marshall. Throughout the day, students will participate in academic preview sessions, campus tours and informational sessions that introduce them to resources such as housing, financial aid and academic advising.<\/p>\n<p>Students will also have the opportunity to meet faculty from their academic colleges, interact with current students and explore the Campus Showcase, where university departments, student services and local businesses highlight the many opportunities available to Marshall students.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis event is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate and welcome the Class of 2030,\u201d said Lisa Williamson, director of orientation, outreach and special events at Marshall. \u201cWe have planned a full day of engaging experiences that allow students to feel connected from the moment they arrive.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Throughout the day, students and their families can explore campus, tour residence halls, connect with key support offices and complete next steps such as registering for orientation, activating their myMU accounts and applying for housing.<\/p>\n<p>Parents will hear from a panel of current students as they reflect on the moments that shaped their college experience.<\/p>\n<p>The celebration concludes with a signature Marshall Bound moment as students \u201cwalk the green carpet\u201d to mark their acceptance and future with the Herd.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFrom walking the green carpet and capturing a keepsake photo to attending a major-specific class and meeting with financial aid and housing staff, students gain valuable insight into campus life,\u201d Williamson said.<\/p>\n<p>For more information or to register, visit <a href=\"http:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/bound\">www.marshall.edu\/bound<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Marshall University will welcome newly admitted students and their families to campus March 28 for Marshall Bound, a special event designed to celebrate the incoming Class of 2030 and help students prepare for their next step as members of the Herd.
