Awards are made competitively to support mentored research or STEM engagement projects with a clear connection to NASA priorities.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Applicants must be enrolled as Marshall undergraduate students in an eligible STEM field. The proposed project or activity must be relevant to NASA and completed under the guidance of a Marshall faculty mentor or adviser.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Applicants must meet WVSGC eligibility requirements, including U.S. citizenship for direct Space Grant support.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Scholarship support is provided as a student stipend. Selected scholars may be invited to present their work at the annual Undergraduate Research Day at the West Virginia Capitol or another statewide or national venue.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Apply through the <a href=\"https:\/\/spacegrant.net\/apps\/?pk=wvf1\"><span class=\"s1\">WVSGC uniform application system<\/span><\/a> or use the QR code on the official scholarship flyer. No separate Marshall University application is required.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The student application deadline is 11:59 p.m. Eastern time on Monday, Sept. 21, 2026.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The faculty endorsement\/evaluation deadline is 11:59 p.m. Eastern time on Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2026. Students should contact their faculty mentor or adviser well before the endorsement deadline to allow time for review and submission.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">After WVSGC completes its initial review, eligible Marshall applications will be provided to the Marshall NASA Advisory Committee for competitive review and award recommendations.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Marshall-specific questions can be sent to Anna Mummert, associate dean of the College of Science and chair of the Marshall NASA Advisory Committee, at <a href=\"mailto:mummerta@marshall.edu\"><span class=\"s1\">mummerta@marshall.edu<\/span><\/a>.
