His scholarship focused on World War I and the Soviet Union, among other areas, and during his distinguished career at Marshall, he authored eight books and received the West Virginia Professor of the Year Award.<\/p>\n<p>Woodward\u2019s wife, Martha Woodward, a longtime contributor to Huntington\u2019s cultural and intellectual life, and other members of the Woodward family are expected to attend the lecture.<\/p>\n<p>The lecture is free and open to the public.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Marshall University\u2019s Department of History will host a memorial lecture honoring the late Dr. David Woodward, emeritus professor of history, at 4 p.m. Monday, Oct. 12, in the Shawkey Room of the Memorial Student Center.
