Admission is determined on a competitive basis. The application deadline is <strong>February 15<\/strong>\u00a0for fall and <strong>September 15<\/strong> for the spring semester.<\/p>\n<p>Applications for admission will be accepted on a rolling\/priority basis no later\u00a0than <strong>December 1<\/strong><sup><strong>st<\/strong><\/sup>\u00a0for Spring semester, and <strong>August 1<sup>st<\/sup><\/strong>\u00a0for Fall semester.<\/p>\n<p>All applicants are required to complete both the University Graduate School Application (Online Version required) and the MSN Application. Applicants must also meet the general admission requirements of the Marshall University Graduate College.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/graduate-admissions\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">University Graduate School Application\u00a0<\/a><strong>(Online Version required)<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/nursing\/files\/MSN-Application-10-2023.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MSN Application<\/a> <strong>(required)<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/nursingcas2026.cas.myliaison.com\/applicant-ux\/#\/login\">Online Programs<\/a> &#8211; Nursing Administration &amp; Nursing Education<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Master of Science in Nursing, Nursing Administration track (MSN- NA), Nursing Education track<\/strong> (<strong>MSN- NE): <\/strong>Applications to the MSN-NA or MSN-NE program is on a rolling admission basis; however, to receive priority consideration all application materials must be received by September 15 for Spring semester and by February 15 for Fall Semester. Applications submitted after the due dates will be considered on a competitive basis until all openings are filled, but no later than December 1st for the Spring semester and August 1st for the Fall semester.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Master of Science in Nursing (MSN-FNP, MSN-PMHNP, MSN-MW) Family Nursing Practitioner, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, and Midwifery. <\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0Applications to the MSN-FNP, MSN-PMHNP, MSN-MW completed applications along with all supporting materials must be received by September 15 deadline for the Spring semester and by February 15 for the Fall semester to receive priority consideration for admission. It should be noted that the application process for these nursing tracks is competitive. Applications submitted after the due dates will be considered on a competitive basis until all openings are filled, but no later than December 1st for the Spring semester and August 1st for the Fall semester. Students applying for the PMHNP &amp; MW program must also apply, interview and be accepted by Shenandoah University.<\/p>\n<h2>Admission Requirements<\/h2>\n<p>The nursing program is available to a limited number of qualified applicants. Admission is determined on a competitive basis. To be eligible for regular admission to the program, applicants must meet the following admission requirements:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Baccalaureate degree with a major in nursing from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited program. (Accredited program requirement is waived for students graduating from an international school of nursing.)<\/li>\n<li>Undergraduate course credit for 3 semester hours of basic statistics with a grade of &#8220;C&#8221; or better.<\/li>\n<li>Undergraduate course credit for 3 semester hours of basic research with a grade of &#8220;C&#8221; or better.<\/li>\n<li>Evidence of a current unencumbered license as a registered nurse in a U.S. jurisdiction. Verification form is included\u00a0in the MSN application package.<\/li>\n<li>Scholastic achievement as evidenced by an overall undergraduate\/graduate Grade Point Average of 3.0 or higher for FNP, PM-FNP, PMHNP &amp; CMW.\u00a0 The NA &amp; NE programs will accept Grade Point Average of 2.5 and higher.<\/li>\n<li>It is strongly recommended that all MSN students have two years of full-time nursing practice prior to application to\u00a0the program. Those who do not meet this criterion will be considered on an individual basis.<\/li>\n<li>Midwifery and psychiatric mental health applicants must apply, have an interview and be accepted by Shenandoah University faculty prior to the application deadline before being fully admitted.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>Applications, fees, and transcripts must be submitted to:<\/h2>\n<p>Admissions Officer<br \/>\nMarshall University Graduate College<\/p>\n<p>One John Marshall Drive<\/p>\n<p>Old Main B19<\/p>\n<p>Huntington, WV 25755<\/p>\n<p>Only those applications that are complete by the deadline will be processed and reviewed by the Graduate Academic Planning and Standards Committee.\u00a0Students will be notified of the committee\u2019s admission decision by the MU Graduate College and the School of Nursing.\u00a0Admission records are only kept on file for one year.
