    Updated Course Modalities Policy<\/h2>\n\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t

    Marshall Online implemented needed updates to course modalities to enhance clarity, accessibility, and student-centered learning. The revision of policy UPAA-6, which went into effect in spring 2025, introduced streamlined and standardized terminology for distance education delivery modes, developed through months of collaboration with faculty, administrators, and students. To support this transition, the Design Center partnered with the Office of the Registrar, IT, and Data teams to train administrators and automate text entry to reduce errors.     Partnered with Mountwest Community & Technical College (MCTC) <\/h2>\n\n\t\t\t\t\n \n

    Marshall Online and MUIT partnered with Mountwest Community and Technical College (MCTC) to strengthen MCTC\u2019s online learning infrastructure and instructional design capabilities. Through this collaboration, the Design Center is supporting MCTC with the design, development, and maintenance of Blackboard courses, including a full upgrade to the Ultra format by Fall 2025. MUIT is providing technical support for Blackboard administrative operations and assisting with escalated faculty and student issues.     Marshall Online\u2019s student intern program continues to thrive as a cornerstone of experiential learning and cross-functional collaboration. Interns contributed to a wide range of initiatives, including newsletter production, video content creation, durable skills course development, and student engagement programming. Their work was highlighted through intern spotlights<\/a> and a dedicated retreat that fostered coordination across departments. Notably, several interns\u2014Baylee Senator, Reagan Hale, Ayonna Helm, and Tennia Dennis\u2014were selected as Adobe Student Ambassadors as part of Marshall\u2019s designation as West Virginia\u2019s first Adobe Creative Campus. In this role, they engaged in media, marketing, and creative projects through Adobe Express, gaining valuable professional development and showcasing leadership in digital literacy. Topics ranged from AI integration, student engagement, and accessibility to course design, durable skills, and micro-pathways. In addition, Hilary Gibson and student intern Chloe Lineberg co-authored a microcredential course on oral contraceptive education.
