Student Teacher Awards

 

No child deserves a mediocre teacher. Be excellent! Strive for excellence in yourself as well as in your students! The COEPD loves to recognize excellence!

  • Each semester 4 student teacher awards are given:
    • Elementary Student Teacher of the Year
    • Secondary Student Teacher of the Year
    • Related Arts/Early Childhood Student Teacher of the Year
    • Dedication to Service Award (Overall Student Teacher Award)
  • Along with recognition of award, teacher candidates receiving award will also receive an HONORARIUM (in the form of a check) of $200
  • Student teachers are nominated by their Cooperating teachers and university supervisors. The PDS Advisory Council reviews and ranks all nominations

Student Teacher Mini Grants: Application links are in Word and PDF. Send applications to backus5@marshall.edu by the following dates: First placement–January 29, 4:00pm (notification will be on January 31); Second placement–March 18, 4:00 (notification will be on March 20)

STEPP Workshops:

February 1 (half-day sessions) – Teaching With Technology And Active Strategies For Secondary Teacher Candidates

February 15 (half-day sessions) – Teaching With Technology And Heggerty, Ashlock, Call/Response, Managing Centers, And More! For Elementary Teacher Candidates

TEACHERS AND COORDINATORS:

Teacher Mini Grants are due by 4:00pm March 13, 2020. Teachers hosting student teachers may apply using the form above under the Teacher tab.
