Please donate for Physics Major Rae Stanley. She is trying to get telescope time on the Vatican Advanced Technology Telescope (http://www.vovatt.org/). She needs $5000 for three nights at the VATT. Any amount helps. Below is a brief description of her work.
It has long been known that stars fuse hydrogen to produce the heavier elements, up to iron. When they die they explode as supernovae and produce most of the heaviest elements. Physics Major Rae Stanley, is proposing that elements can be made in other ways. She will be looking at black holes to observe the presence of the processes that create these elements. Understanding these processes will help scientists to better understand the history of the universe.
