{"id":642,"date":"2018-03-16T14:19:21","date_gmt":"2018-03-16T19:19:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/public-health\/?page_id=642"},"modified":"2018-03-16T14:19:21","modified_gmt":"2018-03-16T19:19:21","slug":"pharmd-mph-program","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/public-health\/pharmd-mph-program\/","title":{"rendered":"PharmD\/MPH Program"},"content":{"rendered":"<header>The Marshall University School of Pharmacy and the Marshall University College of Health Professions (COHP) partnered to offer a new program that enables students to concurrently pursue both the Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) and Master of Public Health (MPH) degrees.<\/header>\n<p>This program has been designed to integrate public health training with pharamcy studies that allows students to complete both\u00a0degrees without extending length of study. Public health courses are closely coordinated\u00a0with the pharmacy curriculum.<\/p>\n<h2>Curriculum<\/h2>\n<p>The core public health curriculum\u00a0includes not only\u00a0such courses such as biostatistics and epidemiology, but key cross cutting training in such subjects as health informatics, law &amp; ethics, and health policy.\u00a0Students pursue either of two\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/public-health\/mphcurriculum\/\">MPH concentrations<\/a>.\u00a0 A track in Global and Community Health emphasizes practice in population health, while a second concentration in Research, Evaluation and Policy prepares students who anticipate working in health system change, including work in clinical research, program development, and policy making.<\/p>\n<p>With most courses offered in the <strong>evenings and online<\/strong>, the MPH program accommodates the schedules for pharmacy students. A diverse faculty bring extensive experience in\u00a0research and practice in medicine, community health, social work, public health informatics, biostatistics, environmental health, infectious diseases, and policy.\u00a0\u00a0Our student composition is diverse, including practicing physicians, public health professionals and dual degree seeking students.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>For More Information:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Please contact: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Anthony T.
