The Sermon Studies Catalog (SSC) is an innovative venture in academic collaboration, and a long-desired research tool. Designed by a librarian and sermon scholars, it allows researchers to locate sermons not just by author, title, and subject, but also by scripture text, occasion, date and place preached, and other important criteria. The author and subject fields use the official Library of Congress headings, and the entire project adheres to the current best practices of cataloging and librarianship. Complete lists of authors and collection titles, as well as the LOC subject headings used, are available on this site.
The initial records reflect the Director’s interest in Anglo-Catholic preaching. Beyond that, the Catalog will be an experiment in crowdsourcing. Anyone interested in contributing information is invited to contact the Director.
