{"id":250,"date":"2013-04-02T10:19:30","date_gmt":"2013-04-02T14:19:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/staff-council\/?page_id=250"},"modified":"2024-09-13T13:46:48","modified_gmt":"2024-09-13T17:46:48","slug":"tuition-benefits","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/staff-council\/tuition-benefits\/","title":{"rendered":"Tuition Benefits"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Classified Staff Council Tuition Benefit Program<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Mission Statement<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It is the intent of Classified Staff Council to ensure Marshall Employees have every opportunity to further their education by offering tuition benefits for all employees.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is Covered?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Unlimited Graduate and Undergraduate Courses<\/li>\n<li>E-Course and On-Campus Courses<\/li>\n<li>Fall, Spring and Summer Courses<\/li>\n<li>Cost of System Capital and E&amp;G Fees<\/li>\n<li>Regular Student Enrollment Courses<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What is Not Covered?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Other fees, including but not limited to: auxiliary, special equity, recreation center, program, lab and late fees.<\/li>\n<li>WV Rocks Courses<\/li>\n<li>Proforma Programs<\/li>\n<li>Hybrid Courses<\/li>\n<li>E-Delivery Course Fees (E-Courses are covered, but the additional fee is not)<\/li>\n<li>Other programs or courses can be added to this list at any time.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Who is Eligible?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Benefits-Eligible Marshall and MURC Employees.<\/li>\n<li>Employees who are admitted to the University and have already registered for classes.<\/li>\n<li>Employees who have maintained \u201cSatisfactory Academic Progress\u201d (SAP) according to Financial Aid and University Policies. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/sfa\">marshall.edu\/sfa<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Further Criteria<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Employees taking courses during regularly scheduled working hours (with supervisor\u2019s approval) must follow the \u201cEducational Benefits\u201d policy at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/human-resources\/files\/Marshall-University-Classified-Staff-Handbook.pdf\">https:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/human-resources\/files\/Marshall-University-Classified-Staff-Handbook.pdf<\/a> regarding release time from their regularly scheduled work week.<\/li>\n<li>Employees must inform the Service Committee by the first day of class if they intend to decline the award by notifying the Staff Council Program Assistant at either 304-696-2222 or easter@marshall.edu.
