Mission<\/h2>\n

The Office of Student Advocacy & Accountability is committed to promoting a safe, healthy, student-centered, and inclusive community where students can learn, grow, and develop as they pursue their academic endeavors at Marshall University. The Office of Student Advocacy & Accountability supports the university\u2019s academic community through the education of students, parents, and other members of the Marshall University community, regarding their role in maintaining a healthy and safe university community through their adherence of university policy and the law.\u00a0 These educational efforts emphasize the importance of making well-informed decisions regarding university policies and the law and the acknowledgment that actions which harm or endanger oneself or others are learning opportunities for students to becoming more responsible citizens of our greater society.<\/p>\n

Goals<\/h2>\n

The goals of the student conduct system are to:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Promote personal responsibility and peer accountability.<\/li>\n
  2. Encourage students to consider the impact of their actions on themselves, their peers, and the greater community.<\/li>\n
  3. Empower students to address any conflict that may arise in a safe, respectful, and socially conscious manner.<\/li>\n
  4. Collaborate with faculty, staff, students, and the campus community with regard to student conduct matters.<\/li>\n
  5. Educate the campus community about student rights and responsibilities related to the University Code of Student Rights & Responsibilities.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Learning Outcomes<\/h2>\n

    The Office of Student Advocacy & Accountability works to ensure our students are holistic, engaged, reflective, and developing. After completing their conduct process, students will be able to:<\/p>\n
