{"id":583,"date":"2022-07-15T09:44:46","date_gmt":"2022-07-15T13:44:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/student-conduct\/?page_id=583"},"modified":"2026-03-17T09:49:17","modified_gmt":"2026-03-17T13:49:17","slug":"student-records","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/student-conduct\/student-records\/","title":{"rendered":"Record Requests &amp; Background Checks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>When applying for jobs, internships, study abroad programs, graduate\/professional school, and other opportunities both inside and outside of Marshall University, an official background check into a student\u2019s Disciplinary Record may be required.<\/p>\n<p>While it is not uncommon for a school or employer to require a student to give permission for a background check, the Office of Student Advocacy and Accountability (OSAA) will not release information regarding a student\u2019s disciplinary records without the student\u2019s written consent.<\/p>\n<h2>Submit a Request for Your Disciplinary History<\/h2>\n<p>To request a copy of your disciplinary history clearance, you must submit a Authorization Form.\u00a0 Typically, OSAA will release a copy of your Disciplinary History Clearance within 5-10 business days of receipt of the request.
