General deadlines are: Fall semester &#8211; February 1, \u00a0Spring semester &#8211; September 1. Some programs deadlines may vary.<\/h6>\n<hr \/>\n<h6><span style=\"\"><strong>\u2713 RECEIVE OFFICIAL ADMISSION TO PROGRAM<\/strong><\/span><\/h6>\n<h6>All study abroad programs through Marshall University will issue an official admission letter that may or may not be needed for entry to your host country or to obtain a visa.<\/h6>\n<hr \/>\n<h6><span style=\"\"><strong>\u2713 MEET WITH YOUR FINANCIAL AID ADVISOR\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/h6>\n<h6>Your advisor will be able to help you determine if aid you receive could be applied toward your study abroad program.<\/h6>\n<hr \/>\n<h6><span style=\"\"><strong>\u2713 APPLY FOR ENTRY VISA (NOTE: some countries require a study visa for students remaining in their country beyond 4 months)<\/strong><\/span><\/h6>\n<h6>Please seek advising from the Study Abroad office as all countries require different policies and documentation when applying for an entry visa.<\/h6>\n<hr \/>\n<h6><span style=\"\"><strong>\u2713 PURCHASE HEALTH INSURANCE<\/strong><\/span><\/h6>\n<h6>All Marshall students who participate in a Marshall University sponsored study abroad program MUST have international health insurance prior to their departure.\u00a0 Please see the Office of Study Abroad for information on purchasing the required coverage.<\/h6>\n<p>Please check with the Study Abroad Office whether your program requires your to purchase the health insurance or whether it is included in the price.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h6><span style=\"\"><strong>\u2713 ARRANGE HOUSING<\/strong><\/span><\/h6>\n<h6>Depending on the program a student participates in, housing and meals may or may not be included. Please discuss your housing options with the Office of Study Abroad.<\/h6>\n<hr \/>\n<h6><span style=\"\"><strong>\u2713 COMPLETE STUDY ABROAD CREDIT APPROVAL FORM<\/strong><\/span><\/h6>\n<h6>Students are required to complete a Credit Approval Form before they depart for their semester abroad. The form pre-approves the courses a student intends to take abroad and informs all necessary departments on campus that a student is taking courses overseas. Students should make an appointment with their academic adviser to get advising on the courses that are offered abroad at their host school. However, the Office of Admissions will handle all credit transfer and course equivalencies.<\/h6>\n<hr \/>\n<h6><strong><span style=\"\">\u2713 MAKE TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS<\/span><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/h6>\n<h6>Students are required to make their own travel arrangements for their semester abroad unless the travel arrangements are included in the cost of the trip.
