The project grew over time, with the first donation coming from community member Tom Wolf in December 2018. The project received several grants from the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection (WVDEP) and the Appalachian Stewardship Foundation, as well as a donation from Leslie Petties. In January 2020, the project purchased its first piece of equipment.
