{"id":543,"date":"2018-03-30T11:09:20","date_gmt":"2018-03-30T16:09:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/theatre\/?p=543"},"modified":"2018-04-09T11:12:56","modified_gmt":"2018-04-09T16:12:56","slug":"marshall-to-launch-tuesday-talks-with-theatre-presentation-april-10","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/theatre\/2018\/03\/30\/marshall-to-launch-tuesday-talks-with-theatre-presentation-april-10\/","title":{"rendered":"Marshall to launch \u2018Tuesday Talks\u2019 with theatre presentation April 10"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Marshall University\u2019s Center for Continuing Education will launch its new series, \u201cTuesday Talks,\u201d with a presentation by Terry Layman, who will guest-direct the upcoming Marshall Theatre production of Shakespeare\u2019s \u201cAs You Like It.\u201d The talk will take place Tuesday, April 10, from 10:30 a.m. to noon in the Joan C. Edwards Playhouse on Marshall\u2019s Huntington campus.<\/p>\n<p>The program is free and open to the public.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Layman will offer a behind-the-scenes look at the production, which will take place April 18 through 21. Set designers and actors will also be on hand to discuss the details of what goes into bringing a play to life.<\/p>\n<p>The April 10 event will also serve as an introduction to Marshall\u2019s new Lifelong Learning Program (LLP), according to Dr. Beth Wolfe, director of continuing education at Marshall.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is the first programming offering of the Lifelong Learning Program, which is designed to allow retired members of the community to remain engaged and active in learning,\u201d Wolfe said. \u201cAfter this first one, Tuesday Talks will only be available to members of the LLP. We will also be offering member discounts to selected short courses beginning in the fall.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Wolfe said there has been interest in the community for several years for Marshall to have a lifelong learning program.
