It\u2019s hard to know what to do, how to feel, or what your options are after a sexual assault. Please know that you\u2019re not alone. Below are some things to keep in mind. If you are in immediate danger or seriously injured, call 911.<\/p>\n

  1. Your safety is important.<\/strong>\u00a0Are you in a safe place? If you\u2019re not feeling safe, consider reaching out to someone you trust for support. You don\u2019t have to go through this alone.<\/li>\n
  2. What happened was not your fault.<\/strong>\u00a0Something happened to you that you didn\u2019t want to happen\u2014and that\u2019s not OK.<\/li>\n
  3. Call the Marshall University Police Department at 304-696-HELP (4357) or 911.<\/strong> They will respond and provide information you may need to go to the appropriate local health facility that can care for survivors of sexual assault and there may be a trained advocate to accompany you.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
