Founded by <a href=\"https:\/\/sapec.ku.edu\/staff\">Jen Brockman<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/respect.uark.edu\/meet-the-staff\/\">Dr. Mary\u00a0Wyandt-Hiebert<\/a> in 2013, the installation is a visual representation of what survivors were wearing at the time of their assault(s) and a reminder to audiences that a person\u2019s clothing choice is never an \u201cinvitation\u201d for sexual assault. For more background information on the installation, visit here: <a href=\"https:\/\/sapec.ku.edu\/what-were-you-wearing\">https:\/\/sapec.ku.edu\/what-were-you-wearing<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>To make this event possible, Marshall University\u2019s Violence Prevention and Response Program is asking individuals to share their stories of experiencing sexual violence and the details of their clothing at the time of the incidents. Based on your submissions, our staff will create outfits for display that best resemble the clothing described in your story. The installation will be displayed at the Marshall University Visual Arts Center on February 20th through the 23rd. There will be an opening reception on February 20th from 6:00 to 7:30 for the public. The installation will remain open until the 23rd.<\/p>\n<p>Please note: All submissions will remain anonymous. Survivors can write a submission regardless of when or where the assault took place.<\/p>\n<p>Submission guidelines: Submitting a story to the Violence Prevention and Response program does NOT initiate a formal complaint to Marshall University.
