MUReads to focus on stress reduction today at 11 a.m.

Marshall Library’s MUReads will be holding an event today focused on student, faculty, and staff relaxation, in preparation for finals.

“Relax! With MUReads,” which will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2, aims to help students reduce stress before diving into finals week.  It will take place in the 3rd floor atrium of the Drinko Library.

The event will feature cookies, cocoa, a coloring corner, relaxing music, and more. Katie Rose, local yoga teacher, will be holding sessions on mindful breathing and the use of essential oils. There will also be a holiday movie to watch, holiday books and music to check out, and articles on stress reduction. There will be a prize drawing for attendees.

MUReads is a year-long reading initiative that encourages West Virginians to read books individually or as part of a team. Anyone can participate, and there are prizes at various times in the year. Interested participants can sign up at any time during the year, and only have to read one book to be eligible for prizes.
