The Marshall University School of Physical Therapy will welcome Dr. Laura Stephens PT, DPT, NCS, CBIS, to the faculty starting July 2. Stephens, a board-certified neurologic physical therapist, has been named an assistant professor in the school. She is certified by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS).
She earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from West Virginia University and a Bachelor of Science in kinesiology from Liberty University. A West Virginia native, Stephens says she is excited to return home to West Virginia after practicing at Cardinal Hill Rehabilitation Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky, for the last six years. Her clinical practice has focused on the treatment of traumatic and acquired brain injury. She brings a wealth of experience to the School of Physical Therapy from her practice in the brain injury unit at one of the nation’s premier rehabilitation hospitals.
