Marshall University faculty, staff and students are once again preparing to make their voices heard on the biggest stage in the state when the university travels to Charleston to celebrate Marshall Day at the Capitol on Tuesday, Feb. 8, at the West Virginia State Capitol. There are plenty of spaces left for departments to sign up to attend, according to Larry Crum, senior director of communications and marketing at the Marshall University Foundation. Dr. Kenneth O'Connor, associate professor of chemistry, died Jan. 5. A longtime member of the faculty, he studied chemistry at Hunter College where he obtained a B.S. degree in 1983. He earned an M.S. and Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Rochester in 1989 under the direction of Professor Robert Boeckman. He began teaching at Marshall in 1999. Donations …
