In Memoriam: Dave Wellman

Dave Wellman, director of communications at Marshall from 2001 to 2018, died yesterday at the age of 69. Prior to joining Marshall as a staff member, he was a longtime sports and senior reporter for the Huntington Herald-Dispatch, a position he had held since graduating from Marshall in 1975. Board of Governors approves capital projects list

Amid receiving end-of-year updates ranging from finance to earnings to budgets, the Marshall University Board of Governors approved at its June 16 meeting a Capital Expenditure Project Report (CEPR) for the West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission (HEPC), should funding become available. Shakirov wins highly competitive NIH R01 grant to continue research

Dr. Eugene Shakirov (pictured), an assistant professor of biological sciences at Marshall, was awarded a $1.18 million, four-year grant from the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The NIH R01 grant from the National Institute of General Medical Sciences will support his research, “Genetic and epigenetic architecture of natural telomere length variation.” The highly competitive grant award is a renewal of …
