(WMUL-FM) \u2014 <\/span><span style=\"\">Support groups on Marshall\u2019s campus are very beneficial and help many people cope with their traumas and anxieties, while also having other people to talk about it with and give them a sense of community.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"\">Organizations like the Resiliency Circle, a support group for individuals who have survived sexual violence, and Fostering Independence, helping people in foster care manage their lives, can help many, as having traumas while being on campus can be hard to deal with.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"\">The Resiliency Circle, sponsored by the Women\u2019s Center and the Counseling Center, meets on the last Wednesday of every month from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. in Old Main.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"\">The student-led group gives people a safe space to be able to talk about their struggles with sexual abuse. \u201cThis peer-to-peer group is led by fellow students who understand and are here to provide connection, understanding and support,\u201d the Marshall University Events Calendar description said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"\">In addition, the Counseling Center is also available to individuals who need extra support.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"\">\u201cSurvivors of all ages, identities and lived experiences are welcome regardless of when the violence may have occurred,\u201d the Marshall University Events Calendar description said. \u201cCommunity guidelines will be established at the beginning of every meeting and may be revised at any time.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"\">Fostering Independence meets at East Hall from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Their next meeting is on April 3.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"\">The group is for students who have been in foster and kinship care and people who do not have family support and helping them with different skills, such as budgeting, how to set up a bank account, how to find an apartment and more.
