\nHUNTINGTON, W. Va. (WMUL-FM) \u2014 As we approach the end of April, some students at Marshall University begin looking towards the end of the semester and summer break. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

However, others are looking forward to Easter Sunday on April 20. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

For some the holiday is all about spending time with their loved ones.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“I plan on going to church with my family and then we’re going to my grandma’s house with all of m<\/span>y cousins just have dinner,” Lauren Hutchinson said.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

She wasn’t the only one who had this i<\/span>dea, as Marshall students Caroline Powell and Chanel Wang both agreed family was the answer for finding Easter plans.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“I plan on going to church for Easter Sunday and then having lunch with my f<\/span>amily,” Powell said.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Wang said she’ll “be going home and going to church on Sunday with my boyfriend’s family.”<\/span><\/p>\n

One thing these three also have in common, they all plan to attend church on Sunday morning.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Known as the Christian Festival and cultural holiday,\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Easter commemorates the resurrection of Jesus from the dead described in the New Testament as having occurred on the third day of his burial following his crucifixion. <\/span><\/p>\n

Attending church and learning the origins of Easter is only part of the celebration, as some will often take on Easter egg hunts, painting eggs and even some other Bunny related activities. <\/span><\/p>\n

In fact, Huntington will have multiple Easter egg hunts l<\/span>eading up to the big day, including two on Saturday April 19.<\/span><\/p>\n
