(WMUL-FM) \u2014 Funktafest X is mixing funk and video game theming for the festival\u2019s tenth year.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"\">The annual festival brings music, art and community to the Ritter Park Amphitheatre, and the entire weekend is getting a Megaman X-style rebrand, including Funkle Sam and Eye Gal.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"\">This year\u2019s festival will span two days for the second year in a row, going from Friday, October 2 to Saturday, October 3.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"\">The lineup features some of Appalachia\u2019s finest musical artists, including some of Huntington\u2019s own.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"\">Music starts at 5:30 p.m. on Friday and 3 p.m. on Saturday. The party wraps up at 10 p.m. each night.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"\">An after party at the Loud will follow Saturday\u2019s festivities featuring Massing, Randy, and Eye.V. The party kicks off at 10 p.m. and will run until 2 a.m.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"\">Friday\u2019s lineup features Mr. Awful, Mamba Beatz, Future Anonymous, The M.F.B, Dinosaur Burps and the Kind Thieves.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"\">Saturday includes KiTana, Baedizzle, Arcana, The Heavy Hitters, Friendly Fire, Here Keke, Freekbass, the Settlement and headliner Magnolia Boulevard.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The annual kick-off party on Marshall&#8217;s Memorial Student Center Plaza will take place some time in early to mid-September, according to festival organizer Parry Casto.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to all the music and art, the Funky Bus Stop Initiative hopes to make attending the festival easier and more accessible to students, Casto said. There will be shuttle transportation running between the festival grounds and the John Marshall statue during the festival in approximately 30-minute rotations.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"\">WMUL-FM has held Classroom Concerts featuring <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/xR9VKQZuqrA?si=_cLvezZ7XP5MJD1Q\"><span style=\"\">The Heavy Hitters<\/span><\/a><span style=\"\"> and<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/vKmWN2q-740?si=Nca9pHhCq9rLPgWn\"><span style=\"\"> Mamba Beatz<\/span><\/a><span style=\"\">, which are available on Youtube or by clicking the underlined links.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"\">Parry Casto was featured on <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/_R2rbsXPWAU?si=zYKWvO4fBCwbw2Uh\"><span style=\"\">Huntington Unscripted<\/span><\/a><span style=\"\"> to talk about last year\u2019s festival.
