HUNTINGTON, W. Va. (WMUL-FM) – Tomorrow evening, the Herd will welcome a familiar foe to Joan C. Edwards\u00a0Stadium,\u00a0The Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders. The Blue Raiders are\u00a01-0 and\u00a0compete in Conference USA. A win for the Blue Raiders will make their first 2-0 start in 25 years.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Thundering Herd are coming off a 45-0 loss against No. 18 Penn State. Head Coach Tony Gibson said the focus has\u00a0now is\u00a0to win every home game.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“We want to be undefeated at home. If we had done that a year ago,\u00a0we’d\u00a0have won eight games.\u00a0It’s\u00a0important here.”\u00a0said Gibson.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Marshall is\u00a0188-43\u00a0all time in Joan C. Edwards\u00a0Stadium.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Middle Tennessee leads the all-time record against Marshall 7-5.\u00a0The first time the\u00a0two\u00a0met was in 1992. Marshall won the last game 42-28; that game solidified Carlos Del Rio-Wilson\u00a0as\u00a0the starting quarterback for the Herd.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Middle Tennessee is led by Head Coach Derek Mason, who has been with the Blue Raiders for\u00a0three\u00a0years. Coach Mason\u00a0was previously head coach at Vanderbilt\u00a0University\u00a0for\u00a0seven\u00a0years. Under center for the Blue Raiders will be sophomore quarterback Roman\u00a0Gagliano;\u00a0his backfield partner\u00a0will be senior running back Antonio Martin. Out wide for the Blue Raiders will be Junior\u00a0receiver\u00a0Cam’ron Lacy.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

For the Thundering Herd, under center will be senior quarterback Carlos Del Rio-Wilson. Behind or beside him will be\u00a0Senior running back Jashon Barbie. Out wide will be Senior wide-out Adrian Norton. In tight for the herd will be senior tight end, and West Virginia native,\u00a0Toby Payne.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Both teams are picked to finish\u00a0third\u00a0in their\u00a0respected\u00a0conferences. Defensively, the Blue Raiders are led in tackles by\u00a0Senior safety Kalen Woods. Marshall is led in tackles by\u00a0Junior defensive back Caleb Clark-Glover. Signal callers for both defenses will be\u00a0Senior linebacker Javae Gilmore for the Herd,\u00a0and\u00a0for the Blue Raiders\u00a0Senior linebacker Ashton Taylor.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The game will be broadcast on 88.1WMUL-FM and on Stream 1 online at marshall.edu\/wmul\/.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
