The student\u2019s name and grade level should be typed on the top left of the page (line 1).<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Marshall students should state their names, year in school, and major on the top line.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">2. On line 2, type the essay\u2019s \u2014 \u201cNeed for Diversity and Racial Justice\u201d \u2014 flush left or<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">centered. Begin the composition on line 3, flush left. Separate paragraphs with line<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">spaces.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">3. Page setup should be 1-inch margins, and text should be double-spaced using a 12-point<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">font in Times New Roman. Essays should be submitted only in Microsoft Word. Please<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">avoid Google docs because they often require permissions that correspondents forget to<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">provide.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">4. Create a name for the Word doc to be attached in this style: Your<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Lastname_BlackHistoryEssay_2021 (Example: Morris_BlackHistoryEssay_2021).<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Submission<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Scan the entry form (located below) and email it with the essay as on attachments to Professor<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Burnis Morris, The Dr. Carter G. Woodson is considered the Father of Black History. He received his high school<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">diploma from Frederick Douglass High School in Huntington, West Virginia, in 1896, and<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">returned four years later as principal. A statue of Dr. Woodson is located at 820 Hall Greer<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Blvd., in Huntington.
