Alpha Psi Omega originated in West Virginia at Fairmont State College on August 12, 1925 when a group of performers were looking for an Honor Society to join. When they did not find what they were looking for, they formed their own. Fairmont State College is known as the "Alpha Cast." Marshall College soon followed on June 1st, 1927, and became the "Beta Cast." Since then, Alpha Psi Omega has expanded to become the largest national honor society in America.
