DIAGNOSTIC SERVICES
The HELP Center offers a full battery of comprehensive psycho-educational testing to help identify a Specific Learning Disability (S.L.D.) and/or attention issues. We can help to determine the nature of the deficits, how they affect learning and what types of instructional methods might be most effective for the student. The team of experts at the HELP Center can identify a S.L.D. and/or attention issues in individuals from 6 years of age to adults.

Identify academic strengths and weaknesses
A full assessment battery is customized for each individual client, and may take from five hours to two full days of evaluation. Standardized tests that assess academic achievement, language skills, perception, intelligence, and cognitive functioning are used, as well as interviews, observations, and history to determine an individual student’s specific difficulties.
Find new ways to learn
Following the testing procedures a conference is scheduled to discuss the written evaluation and assist the student and his or her parents and/or guardians to understand its findings. The written evaluation typically encompasses the student’s cognitive and academic strengths, as well as possible limitations. Guidance and recommendations are provided concerning ways to optimize academic potential, such as community services, informative literature, educational accommodations and academic resources. Our assessment professionals will offer commentary and conclusions.
