Dr. Tammy Johnson has
been appointed director of admissions at Marshall University.
Dr. Tony Szwilski will
serve as interim dean of Marshall's College of Information Technology
and Engineering beginning August 1, 2006.
Marshall University has announced its Erma Byrd Scholars for the Class
of 2010:
The presidents of
Marshall University and Southern West Virginia Community and Technical
College have signed an agreement to offer a four-year elementary
education degree that can be earned completely in Southern West Virginia.
Seated are Stephen J. Kopp, president of Marshall (left), and Joanne
Jaeger Tomblin, president of Southern. Behind them are Sarah Denman,
provost of Marshall; Carl Johnson, professor of education at Marshall,
who will be teaching in the program; Tina Browning, a recent graduate of
Southern who plans to continue in the four-year program; Katie
Smith-Cox, Vice President of Academic Affairs at Southern; and Robert
Shell, vice chair of Marshall's Board of Governors.
John Kinzer is serving as
interim Chief Executive Officer of the Marshall University Foundation,
Inc.
Kristi K. Arrowood has
joined the Marshall University Foundation, Inc. as Director of Special
Projects.

Program Associate Professor
Pamela J. Staton, Ph.D., has been appointed to the science board of
the Environmental Pathogens Information network, a U.S. Department of
Agriculture National Facilitation Project that has been awarded support
for the next three years.
Dr. Eugene T.W. Sanders,
superintendent and CEO of Toledo, Ohio public schools, will be the
keynote speaker at Marshall's 13th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Symposium.
