The Center for Sermon Studies was founded in 2014 to promote the study of preaching among students at Marshall University, members of faith communities in the tri-state area, and scholars around the world. For the moment, the Center’s primary focus is preaching in the Abrahamic traditions (Judaism, Christianity, and Islam); in the future, it may expand to include other world religions.

The Center sponsors an annual conference and publishes a peer-reviewed, open-access journal; links to other projects can be found at the top of this page.

Those interested in discussing matters related to preaching are invited to subscribe to the discussion list or join the Facebook group. For more information about the Center’s work, please contact the Director.
