Banner Student (Bug-S)

The Banner Users’ Group-Student has been established to oversee the on-going operation of the Banner Student/Financial Aid System since its inception in 1989. The group accepts responsibility for the coordination and use of the Banner Student Information System for optimum performance for students, faculty, and staff. Responsibility is also included for information for and procedures relating to MILO Voice Response, MILO WEB and the Kiosks. The University Information Technology Committee has oversight responsibilities for the Banner Users’ Group.

The Banner Users’ Group-Student meets the second Wednesday of each month at 10:00am. in Drinko 439. William Biggs leads the group.

There is one eligible voting member on the Banner Users’ Group-Student representing the following departments: Accounting, Academic Deans, Admissions, Alumni/Development, Bursar, Computing Services, Financial Aid, Graduate College, Institutional Research, Medical School, Registrar, and Residence Services. Additional individuals routinely meet with the group but are not voting members.

GOVERNANCE OF THE BANNER USERS’ GROUPS

The Banner Oversight Committee has compiled a Policies and Procedures Manual for use by all of the Banner Users’ Groups. Procedures for the Resolution of Multiple ID/PIDM Problems and the Recommendation of the sub-committee on multiple ID/PIDMs approved by the BOC in May 2002.

The history of the Banner Users’ Group-Student is documented in the Banner Users’ Group History, Development, and Oversight document.

The Banner Oversight Committee developed a formal Change Assessment Form to be used for all change requests that affect the Banner application components.
